It’s time for some blog candy!

By | March 18, 2012

Hi stampers!

It's time for some more blog candy!  I'm giving away a $25.00 gift certificate for Stampin' Up! Products.  I'll pay shipping and taxes.  All you have to do is leave a comment on any blog post until 23 March 2012.  Tell me your favorite or memorable St Patrick's Day experience.

My first date with my husband was on 17 March 1972 – 40 years ago.  Though we dated off and on for several months, we finally broke off and dated and married other people.  We met again in 1985 and dated for 8 years before we married in 1993.  I guess I wanted to be sure he was the one – LOL!

Tell me your best St Patrick's Day!  I'll select a winner on 24 March 2012 and post it.  Please leave your e-mail address so that I can notify you if you are the winner.

US only please.

Thanks for stopping by today

I don’t remember any one more specific than another off the top of my head but yesterday’s St. Patty’s Day was pretty good! The week before my MIL had made the tradtional meal of corned beef, potatoes, cabbage and carrots. Her son (my husband) just had to have some more so we bought the ingredients and she made the meal again and brought it over. Then we all went to a local college to watch my son compete in a robotics competition. We had a full day!
P.S. I also tried my hand at making St. Patty’s treats using small, black, plastic pots filling it with rainbow Twizzlers and chocolate coins on one end and a cotton candy cloud on the other. They turned out pretty cute!!

I think my most memorable St. Patty’s Day is the last one before my mom died. She is Irish, so she LOVED to make Corned Beef with cabbage and red potatoes. I’m not sure I appreciated it as much when she was alive…..but I sure would love to have her around now to make it for me. :O(

When I was growing up I looked forward to my favorite meal, Corned Beef & Cabbage with potatoes, carrots and corn on the cob in the pot. We would go to my Grandma’s house every year. And for dessert She would make Her famous Strawberry Rhubarb pie. I make the meal myself now for years but it will never be as good as Grandma’s.

    Rachel,
What a cute story you have 😉 I don’t have such a romatic story but my husband and I watch the same movie every year. We watched it our first year of marriage on St. Patty’s Day and still watch it 12 years later. It is a movie about a town in Ireland who won the lottery ;)We laugh at the same spots every year! Funny we look forward to seeing it even though we know what is happening next!

Well, Rachel, you and David were definitely meant to be!

My most memorable St. Patrick’s Day was about 20 years ago. A restaurant in town where I grew up had an all-you-can-eat corned beef feast for $2.95 (those were the days)! It sure was good. When we left the restaurant there was a light dusting of snow and ice.

My Favorite St. Patty’s Day was 25 years ago when my hometown had their very FIRST St. Patrick’s Day Parade! My boss was on the Society Board, and I got to be on their float and sing Danny Boy~ That was SO MUCH FUN! The parade is still going strong….

This St Pat’s day is really special this year for my whole family……..we did the family tree search and found out we are Irish……we thought all these years we were Scottish……..it turns out we are both and we found out that our family last name spelling was changed from the trip from Ireland to the US.
    So Happy St. Patty’s Day!!!

My most memorable St. Patrick’s Day was when my husband and I were on our Honeymoon in Florida. We decided to go to lunch at a place on the river and when we got there, the river was green! Every year on St. Patrick’s Day, they put green dye in the water. I was so amazed! Then we had to try some green beer!
