Gorgeous Cards – Enjoy!

One Layout, Four Different Cards, Starring the New Embossing Paste!

A new catalog . . . yay! If you’re like me, you always count down the days until a new catalog is released. And when it’s finally out (after changing your wish list for the fifth time, crossing out and adding items), you can hardly wait for your order to arrive!

My personal favorites from the new catalog are the Embossing Paste (item # 141979) and the coordinating Pattern Party Decorative Masks (item # 144103). So I came up with a layout, gathered four different stamp sets, and headed to my crafting table.

For my first card I used the Lovely Inside & Out Bundle (item # 145323). I cut out the heart image from Lemon Lime Twist (item # 144245), Berry Burst (item # 144243), and Bermuda Bay Cardstock (item # 131197) and trimmed the die-cut pieces. The sentiment, which I stamped in Basic Black Archival ink (item #140931) on Whisper White Cardstock (item # 100730) is from the coordinating stamp set. Then I adhered the die-cut pieces to a circle I cut out using the Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies (item # 145372).

To create the embossed background, I decided to go for a “brick wall” look: I tinted the paste with Cajun Craze Stampin’ Ink Refill (item # 119790) and applied the inked paste over the mask using one of my Palette Knives (item # 142808).

To embellish the project, I used the Hearts & Stars Elements (item # 144215), some Black Mini Sequin Trim (item # 144259), and Lemon Lime Twist 1/2″ Finely Woven Ribbon (item # 144135).

My next card features the Fabulous Flamingo Stamp Set (item # 143758). I stamped the flamingo using Powder Pink (item # 144084), Berry Burst (item # 144083), and Flirty Flamingo (item # 141397) ink and colored the eye and beak with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker (item # 100082). The leaves, which I stamped in Emerald Envy ink (item # 141396), are from the same stamp set.

This time, I tinted the embossing paste in the background with Powder Pink Stampin’ Ink Refill (item # 144090) and used the small diamond-patterned mask. For the decoration I used Silver 3/8″ Metallic Edge Ribbon (item # 144213), Silver Mini Sequin Trim (item # 144230), and Metallic Enamel Shapes (item # 141678).

For my third card I grabbed a festive stamp set called Merry Mistletoe (item # 143650). I stamped the reindeer in Soft Suede ink (item # 126978) and the tree in Garden Green ink (item # 126973).

I didn’t add ink to the Embossing Paste this time so the medallion background is just white.

I decorated the project with some Hearts & Stars Elements (item # 144215), Cherry Cobbler 1/4″ Double-Stitched Ribbon (item # 144117), Metallic Enamel Shapes, and some of those cute Boxwood Wreaths Embellishments (item # 144176).

To create the last card, I opted for the Happy Birthday Gorgeous Stamp Set (item # 143662), the Balloon Bouquet Punch (item # 140609), and a mix of happy colors. I stamped the balloons using Peekaboo Peach (item # 141398) and Flirty Flamingo ink (item #141397). The greeting and the flowers were stamped in Sweet Sugarplum (item # 141395), Emerald Envy (item # 141396), Flirty Flamingo (Item #141397), and Peekaboo Peach ink on Whisper White Cardstock. The element below the greeting is a leftover piece punched out from Emerald Envy Cardstock (item # 141420) using the Ticket Tear Border Punch (item # 143718).

The clouds in the background were colored with Soft Sky Stampin’ Ink Refill (item # 131161), and I embellished the card with some 2016–2018 In Color Glitter Acrylic Shapes (item # 144218), Silver Mini Sequin Trim (item # 144230), Emerald Envy 5/8″ (1.6 cm) Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon (item # 144190), and a few Metallic Enamel Shapes.

I was surprised by the fun, diverse looks you can create using the new masks and Embossing Paste—and especially how easy it is to color the paste. Have fun experimenting and creating with these amazing new products!
